Reports bomb when using "order by"
Posted in 2000
Let's try this again...
I would appreciate some help with a problem on
a platform I am not familiar with.
OS: Alpha OSF1 v4.0
Informix: IDS 7.30.FC7 , 4GL 7.20.UD6
The problem is that when an "order by" clause
is put in the OUTPUT section of a report, the
program core dumps.
I ran the report with dbx and the stack trace was:
0 _iqcddcl() ["iqcursor.c":469, ...
1 gen_rpt(fgl_pcnt = 0, fgl_operation = 0) [...
2 main(fgl_argc = 1, fgl_argv = ...
I looked at the C code and the SQL statements that
it proposed to run worked when I initated them in
dbaccess.
The guy who I am helping said that old 4ge's will
work, but any report w/ the "order by" will not
work if recompiled. He said this began August 4,
but nothing in /usr/informix has been modified
for a couple months.
I would appreciate any help you can offer.
And if I'm not asking too much, it would be great
if I could receive help by email instead of/in
addition to this forum.
Many thanks!
John
