New version of utils2_ak

Friends, The latest release of my utils2_ak package has been uploaded to both the Oninit web site (www.oninit.com/utils) and the IIUG Software Repository ( www.iiug.org/software). The most significant new feature is in dostats: Dostats: New features: --procedure - creates a stored procedure to execute the UPDATE STATISTICS commands that dostats produces. --schedule - Schedule the stored procedure to run periodically or once using the 11.xx+ task scheduler feature. --aus-thresholds - Retrieve the Auto Update Statistics threshold settings to configure Aging, Browsing and PDQPRIORITY if enabled. This new feature gives you all of the benefits of using Auto Update Statistics (AUS) plus all of the features of dostats including more precise data distribution generation than AUS generates. If you schedule your dostats runs in cron - or in the IDS task scheduler using a stored procedure to execute dostats - passing your own procedure name with --procedure and --one-time, then dostats can now be a complete superset replacement for AUS. Art, Do this include the fixes that you have made for us? I can remember: -- the problem with procedures getting called triggers because of the comments right below the 'create' statement -- the 'no matching quote' problem with the line breaks Thanks, Joe From: "Art Kagel" <art.kagel@gmail.com> To: ids@iiug.org Date: 08/03/2009 08:04 AM Subject: New version of utils2_ak [16553] Sent by: ids-bounces@iiug.org Friends, The latest release of my utils2_ak package has been uploaded to both the Oninit web site (www.oninit.com/utils) and the IIUG Software Repository ( www.iiug.org/software). Yes, Joseph, all of the bugs that you identified have been fixed in this release which IB for myschema is 2.198. The only thing there isn't a fix for is the problem you just told be about regarding the missing VERCOLS clauses. As I replied in private, the detection of VERCOLS is always on and cannot be disabled. Also I have verified that it is working on my system, so something is going on. I'll message you privately to get more information. Art Art S.
