Creating a database in dbspaces, is the right way ? else Can we create database in blobspaces, sblobspaces ?? ------WebKitFormBoundary3aVAC6CdyMTFn+pu
No. A database, or for that matter a permanent table or index, can only be created in a 'normal' dbspace. Temp tables and their indexes can be created in temp dbspaces, but still not in blobspace or sblobspace. You can only place Simple Large Object columns within a table can be placed into a Blobspace and only Smart Large Object columns within a table can be placed into a Smart Blobspace, not the tables and databases themselves. The only exception to that would be if you created a Virtual Table Interface (VTI) table type that lives in a smart blobspace, but you would have to code all of the support routines yourself and the database that contained the tables would still have to live in a regular dbspace. Why? What problem are you trying to solve? Art Art S. Yes, creating your databases in dbspaces is the right thing to do (preferably not rootdbs though). I haven't tried it, but it is likely impossible to create a database in blobspace. --EEM > > ------WebKitFormBoundary3aVAC6CdyMTFn+pu > > > ************************************************************************ ****** > * > Forum Note: Use "Reply" to post a response in the discussion forum.
