The more harddrives, the better, is rule number one. The more CPUs, the better is rule number two. The more memory, the better, is rule number three. What will the server be used for? How many users, what sort of work, how much data? The tape drive selection depends on how much you have to back up. If it's just for personal use or a relatively small user base, a PC running Linux will be fine, if you're going to be running a couple of hundred users, look to HP, IBM or Sun (in any order :-) NT is (still) a pile of smelly brown stuff, and there isn't a W2K port yet. And that's probably just going to have a slightly lighter hue. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
