Performance Data for Informix 7.1 ??

Hello, I am wondering if there is presently performance data on Informix 7.1 (specifically the "oninit" server engine) readily available. I realize that such data is highly machine-dependent, and so also would like to ask: Is there already a publically available test-suite that will benchmark a machine for various representative database operations? The reason I ask is that I am considering doing thesis work on discrete-time simulation of database-intensive applications. Performance of most applications is difficult to ascertain a-priori, and targets other than "as fast as possible" seem difficult to realistically set. In addition, the impact of changing the high-level logic flow of the data-intensive application could be ascertained much more quickly through simulation than through actual tests (which could each take hours, days, or longer). Thus, benchmarking the system in question's database performance over a wide range of ESQL/C operations such as insertions w/wo indices, insertions which fail, updates which fail, and so forth, would be necessary for obtaining simulation inputs.
