Dragon Lady & OS FS52?
Posted in 1997
I have a Dragon Lady 40 here, and planned to use an OS 46SF on it, but now have an itch (and I gotta scratch it!) to try a four stroke engine. I'm considering an OS 52, mounted sideways, for it. Anyone do a DL 40 with this engine (or a similar sized four stroke)? I'd be interested in performance opinions, observations, and setups .. big enough? ... too heavy? ... great? ... don't bother? ... prop size? ... balance issues? ... etc , etc ... I also have two building questions, based on the archive in dejanews.com ... Has anyone had trouble with the aluminum main gear being too flimsy ... if so, what did you use to replace it (Great Planes, Halco, etc)? ... and secondly, how does the fiberglass cowl stand up over time? Did you reinforce the mounting holes at all? It seems kinds of thin to me ... Thanks in advance! - Central Connecticut Radio Control Club - AMA 563753 "Free advice is often worth the price"
