The Windows NT version that comes with ESQL/C for Windows NT works for us under Windows 95 using the Impromptu report generator from Cognos. We simply installed this version directly on Windows 95. Yes it's "unsupported", but as long as this is all Informix has I will demand service from Informix if I should ever need it. There is no way that Informix can or should get away with claiming they don't support Windows 95 now, so long after it has been released. That's simply too stupid. I am a customer. I demand things or I whould have to go elswhere. On the other hand, if you can use ODBC do so using OpenLink ODBC. Our testings so far shows this as an excelent product that among other things has security features Informix aparantly haven't even begun to think about. Its performance also seems to be excelent. Probably better than the I-Net native interface. Informix CLI (the ODBC driver from Informix running on top of I-Net) is simply to buggy and badly implemented to be of any real use.
