SE kill safe ?

I need to kick out users that are not active after a definite number of minutes. The context is the following: - SE ( version 5 and up ) - SQL form (perform) - ESQL/C program - On SCO Open Server 5.0.5 Is it safe to kill the processes including SQLEXEC if I detect that the cpu time for the sqlexec is not changed for a few minutes (example 5 minutes). I assume here that in this case the sqlexec process will not be processing any transaction. Maybe there are better ways to kick to users out ? In the ESQL/C program i can program an alarm, but what about the SQL form ? Thanks Luc Chatelain

NEVER KILL SQLEXEC processes. Even if it is not active it may be
part way through a tranaction which will not get rollbacked back.
Kill -1 the parent process i.e. the .4ge, isql and dbaccess.
The parent process get the hangup signal, shutdown cleanly and
disconnect from the database, cleanly shutting down the sqlexec
process.
