From your several questions lately (which are fine, keep posting) it
seems you are comparing PL/SQL or some similar Oracle product with
Informix.
Please state what type of problems you try to solve. Are you creating
an application for end users, some ad hoc sql scripts for some purpose
or something else - and what is the purpose.
Also state what Informix product you are actually using or plan to
use.
If you do I am sure we can give you a lot more help. There are lots of
products you can use for different purposes coming from Informix or
other sources. There are many that would be more than happy to help
you in the best direction.
As to prompts form an sql script that doesn't exist if you run sql
from inside dbaccess. That's however only one way of doing it. There
are many others that might solve your problem in an elegant way.
