I have had a look at Kevin Stock's nice little Perl extension for Oracle
'oraperl'. I would very much like to have such a thing for the Informix
database system, with which I work daily.
The ESQL/C that I use, however, seem to be somewhat more inconvenient
for this than the Pro*C that is used in oraperl. I cannot easily see,
for instance, how to save cursors and prepared statements in dynamic
perl structures; ESQL/C seem to insist, that cursors and prepared
statements are allocated on compile time.
Have anybody else been looking at this problem? Please answer
to me by e-mail, and I will summarize to the news group.
Best regards
