Big problem for us.
We are using Informix 5.0x SE engine and I-NET and TOOLS. Our 4gl
programs use TEMP tables that need to be accessed while in different
databases. When we deployed I-NET to distribute the processing, we can
no longer see the temp tables over databases that span multiple
machines.
For instance:
Machine A has a database named "test" , Machine B has a database named
"test2". The DBPATH is setup correctly to see both databases and the
4GL programs can access both databases correctly. However, if we
create a TEMP table on "test" and switch to "test2" and try to select
from that TEMP table, we get the "table does not exist in database"
error.
If both databases are on the same machine, the above works fine.
Informix support has told us that SE 5.0x should support this.
Has anyone else done this or know if it is indeed possible? Or,
alternatively, what is the best workaround?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
TIA,
