//native_threads/libhpi.sl: error : 2

This issue came up in another thread but I thought it significant enough to
start a new thread. In fact this is the third thread I have started in the
past week involving trying to create a java udr. I have tried this on two
completely separate boxes with the same results. Both boxes are:
IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 10.00.FC8
All the online tutorials and examples make creating a java udr look simple but
I have put about two days worth of research and experimentation into this and
don't seem to be getting anywhere.
If there is some system setup secret would someone please let me in on it?
This time I am trying to install a very simple jar file 'foo.jar' from
dbaccess:
execute procedure install_jar(
'file:/home/informix/extend/java/foo.jar','foo_jar', 0);
The error I get now is:
Cannot load lib
/home/informix/extend/krakatoa/jre/bin//native_threads/libhpi.sl: error : 2
All libhpi.sl files have rx all privileges set.
foo.jar is about as simple a java class file as you can get:
======================================================================
package foopkg;
public class Fooclass {
/**
* @param args
*/
public static void main(String[] args) {
System.out.println(dofoo(5));
}
public static int dofoo(int pfoo){
return pfoo;
}
}
======================================================================
errno 2 in Unix = "not found". It's not in $PATH or an ONCONFIG value or
$LD_LIBRARYPATH or something.
Maybe you need a link to another dir with Java jars or libs?
Note: I have no experience with Java UDRs.
Bob

Have you looked at the JVP* values in the onconfig..?
Specifically JVPJAVALIB
JVPJAVAHOME /dbase/informix/extend/krakatoa/jre
# JRE installation root directory
JVPHOME /dbase/informix/extend/krakatoa
# JVP log file.
# The path to the JRE libraries relative to JVPJAVAHOME
JVPJAVALIB /bin
This path does not look right.
/home/informix/extend/krakatoa/jre/bin//native_threads/libhpi.sl: error :
2
I don't see a native_threads directory under *jre/bin directory instead
these libraries are under bin itself.
Thanks

Thanks for you help; you were right on the money. I had JVPJAVLIB set to
/bin/. I change it to /lib/PA_RISC2.OW and that got rid of the error 2 issue
but now I am getting a 46103 error when I execute the udr.
I was able to install foo.jar:
execute procedure install_jar(
'file:/home/informix/extend/java/foo.jar','foo_jar', 0);
and create fooudr:
CREATE FUNCTION fooudr (pfoo int) RETURNING INT
WITH(class='jvp')
EXTERNAL NAME 'foo_jar:
foopkg.Fooclass.dofoo(int)'
LANGUAGE JAVA;
But when I execute fooudr I get error 46103:
execute function fooudr(5);
My JAR_TEMP_PATH=/home/informix/extend/java and that directory contains
bevis_test.informix.foo_jar.jar
Any ideas?
