Rename a chunk's partition in OnLine?

OK, OK, I did the most bone-headed thing in the world. When I added a chunk to a dbspace (in Informix OnLine), I accidently used the /dev/rdsk name instead of the symbolic link to the disk partition (which I had just set up moments before the big mistake). Is there some way to tell OnLine to use the symbolic link instead of the /dev/rdsk name? I don't want to change partitions, or resize, or drop a chunk, I'd just like this new chunk to have a path name like the existing chunks. Perhaps an entry in a 'sys' table? (I'm not at the system now.) Is there any hope for me? Other than starting a new career as a hazardous waste hauler? Thanks! -- Michael Hall http://www.enteract.com/~mghall mghall@enteract.com
No hope. If the chunk has not been used yet, just drop it and readd it with the corect linkname (ignore the dire warnings about doing this without an intermediate archive). Art S.
