Guess what. IBM Canada has confirmed today that replication can not be used with WGE, nor the CPU limit to more than two. To quote them "according to their worldwide licensing policy, no replication with WGE". And they have the nerve to ask "why are you moving away from Informix". Ravi ps: They also said "we offer all those in DB2 WGE" "rkusenet" <rkusenet@sympatico.ca> wrote in message news:2ju31hF152c2uU1@uni-berlin.de... > Looks like there is some hope for Informix in my company. It's my understanding that replication is an up-and-coming feature for DB2 in Stinger, modeled after Informix HADR: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/software/data/db2/stinger/stingerwhatsnew.pdf ( pages 3 and 33 ) Also, you can run a simple search on www.ibm.com by typing in the word 'stinger'. Lots of information. The real question is whether you really need database-driven replication, but that's probably another thread. At any rate, you should pay particular attention to the differences in DB2 WGE vs EEE. "rkusenet" <rkusenet@sympatico.ca> wrote in message news:2kbg43Fege4U1@uni-berlin.de... > Guess what. For e.g., in Stinger the secondary server can not be running at all. It will be in cold state. > The real question is whether you really need database-driven replication, > but that's probably another thread. We want to use replication for HA, instead of clustering. There is an added benefit of some quasi load balancing by directing all queries to the secondary server. What other choice we have. > At any rate, you should pay particular > attention to the differences in DB2 WGE vs EEE. At this time WGE will do fine for us.
