The person with the problem may have already tried to fin d the answer in the manual and may not understand it, or can't find it. Why not give them a= decent answer to the question. I thought this mailing list was for people to share knowledge and experience, not take the piss out of people that know less than us. Anyway Abel, to be the best help I can, to optimise a query you really need to look at the fields you are qureying on in the 'WHERE clause' of your statment. Each query is (should be) unique and there is a limit to= how well the query will perform. Indexing will help your speed of retriveal, but has its own overheads of using more space. Plus, using too many indexes could actually SLOW the query. Mail me personally if you want with the specific query and any detail of the tables within it i.e. indexes and jins and I'll see if I can help.
