How are you calling the stored procedures ? The August 1996 issue of PBDJ
there is a story on performance tuning, specifically with Stored
procedures. It states that by using the RPCFUNC keyword to call stored
procedures (instead of DECLARE, EXECUTE, FETCH, CLOSE) you will get better
performance.
I quote, "It turned out that ROCFUNC was consistently four times faster
over the network than the DECLARE PROCEDURE syntax when executing the same
stored procedure on the database."
