sperform & tables in more than one dbspaces

We have discovered that we cannot use sperform on tables in more than one dbspace (as opposed to tables in a single dbspace with more than one chunk). Informix is 7.30, tools are 7.x. Of course it's because ROWID is no longer available to us. :-( Is there another utility, or later version of speform, which overcomes this problem? It's so handy to be able to whip up a quick form, and of course the tables we've had to fragment in this way are key tables in our database! TIA

This is (or jolly well should be) documented in at least the release notes if not in the main-stream documentation. > Informix is 7.30, tools are 7.x. > > Of course it's because ROWID is no longer available to us. :-( Yup. > Is there another utility, or later version of speform, which overcomes > this problem? There isn't any alternative version of ISQL Perform that handles the absence of ROWIDs. As Colin McGrath said, the 'best' solution is to add physical ROWIDs to the fragmented table. It is certainly the only one that will work with Perform. It may not be the best from some other view points (such as the one that worries about disk space used to store the ROWID and index it). -- Yours, Jonathan Leffler (Jonathan.Leffler@Informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- http://www.perl.com/CPAN "I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it!"
