Help with Disabling Constraints...
Posted in 1998
I am doing some performance tuning on our databases. One of the things I am timing is our bulk loading with indexes, triggers, and constraints disabled. I am having a problem disabling contraints in table mode. I am getting back an 829 error indicating that the object is in use by other objects. I have narrowed this down to the Primary Key contraints on the table. I assume this is because this constraint is also a foreign key into another table. So, what I am asking then is do I need to disable the reference constraint on the child table that has this primary key constraint? Thanks!
