Unless I missed something, or there is something new out, I believe the reference to number of open (whatever) concerns the number of _files_ that a user can have open at any one time. This is not a function of Informix, rather it is a function of your particular operating system (on several Unix systems, this is the NOFILES tunable parameter, generally set to 20). Another constraint, common to both Unix and DOS, would be the amount of available RAM. On another note, and just an observation, it must be one h---uva application that can have up to 20 select statements open at any time. I would be interested in the seeing the code for a monster like that! -- Harry Caughey | My ability to communicate with you Virginia Beach, Virginia | is only as good as your ability to caughey@infi.net | communicate with me.
