Hi all,
S.O: Solaris 8
ENGINE: IDS 7.31.UD8
In the last days I put some tables memory resident and monitored
with onstat -b and I believe with have enough buffers to put some others
tables, my question is:
Can I put memory resident tables like systables? Sysdistrib? Or they
are in "buffer" by the continuos usage?
They are some trouble to put many tables memory resident??
I hope with someone can help me, thanks a lot!!!

PLEASE do not post MIME. It more than triples the bandwidth required to
download and store your posting.

Don't need to. All the information that the server needs from system
catalog tables is already cached in in-memory tables (see:
onstat -g dic - the data dictionary cache
onstat -g dsc - the data distributions cache
onstat -g prc - the stored procedure cache
These caches are stored in the Virtual Shared Memory segment and are
independent of the Buffer Cache.

Only starving other tables out of the cache.
