How to stop ontape -c

Hi there,
I am running IDS on an NT system and whenever I use my application I
need to start the logging. For that purpose I open a DOS-box with all
the parameters set and start ontape -c. This works fine so far. But how
do I stop it ? When I press the close button (on the upper right side of
the window) then a dialog appears and asks me if I want to shutdown that
process. I say yes and when I want to start ontape -c again (after not
shutting down the system) it tells me start there is still an ontape
process running. Where did I go wrong ?
Thank you for your help in advance.
We use <ctrl> c

But that has the same effect as using the close-button.

Not sure if this would helps.
there are some UNIX tools ported over to Windows, and one of them that
you can use to check whether the process is still running inspite of
"Ctrl+C" is "ps"
With these utilities, you can try "ps | grep onbar" to see if the
process is still running.
If it is, then use "kill <process_id>" to terminate the onbar before
running ontape again.
can find the UNIX tools in www.winfiles.com (freeware).
