Data transfer between Oracle and Informix
I am wondering what tools are availbale to move data between the two databases. I am going to be moving our PeopleSoft database to Oracle 8.1.5 from Informix 7.22, also moving data from JD Edwards on Oracle 8.1.5 to out datawarehouse on Informix 7.31 Thanks in advance Hans
Hans, DataStage would be a nice fit...check www.ardentsoftware.com for details. It also has an "extract kit" for PeopleSoft, though I'm not too familiar with the specifics (the web site has it). Data Junction is a tool which would be good for this. You can get it at http://www.datajunction.com You can also get it through us (if you are in the U.S or Canada) , www.msystemsintl.com. Data Junction would be ideal for the move from JDE to your data warehouse. As far as Peoplesoft, I would check with Peoplesoft first to see if they have any tools, since they know their database schema best and they probably had to do this before. Since the number of tables involved is probably huge, it may be a very time consuming project todo even with a tool such as Data Junction.
