This is a financial system that is used for day-to-day activities of a commercial bank branches. This system produces reports for managerial use such as analysis and better management and the summary reports are also produced. This system is also using distributed database processing and we can have cross-branch transactions in this system using two-phase commit protocol of Online DSA to ensure data integrity at different servers. A person having account in one branch can draw money from the other online branch. The data of this system was converted using High Performance Data Loader Utility of INFORMIX Online DSA. Responsible for backup and tape devices configuration for fast online recovery from failure for both data and logical logs. Warm and cold restores were tested using the tbtape utility. Using the onspace utility, created dbspaces, data, logical logs temporary tables and lob data. Data was transferred from COBOL flat files to Informix using ipload and dbload
