re-initialization of shared memory fails

I've been testing a third party backup/restore software (Netbackup) on a
test database on IDS 7.31 on Sparc, Sol 2.7. Everytime I try to restore
the small test database I seem to have corrupted the root chunk, as I am
unable to do an oninit -s. This is from my online.log file:
14:22:27 Informix Dynamic Server Initialized -- Shared Memory
Initialized.
14:22:27 Physical Recovery Started.
14:22:27 Physical Recovery Complete: 0 Pages Restored.
14:22:27 Logical Recovery Started.
14:22:30 Logical Recovery Complete.
0 Committed, 0 Rolled Back, 0 Open, 0 Bad Locks
14:22:31 Informix Dynamic Server Stopped.
14:22:31 mt_shm_remove: WARNING: may not have removed all/correct
segments
I did an ipcs and there were no shared memory segments hanging there
that belongs to Informix. Any thoughts on how to solvis this without
doing an oninit -i?
Thanks!
Rebecca

I've seen this type of problem when there were Informix instances
claiming more memory than was available on the machine - they all got
tied up in a knot and the engine either didn't come back up or, when it
did, it went into an immediate panic and shutdown. Only other time was
memory fragments left over, can you bounce the whe whole machine?

I did a rofferr on 141 and it makes no sense because I haven't even
changed the TBLSPACE_STATS parameter (set to 1) and I only have one
table in my one database on rootdbs.
Thanks in advance!
