Hi You need to the use the following methods of an ADO Field object in VB: GetChunk() AppendChunk() INSERTS: You basically store the contents in a local temp file (e.g. C:\\blobtemp\\blob000.000). Then create an ADO Recordset with no rows (i.e. WHERE 1=2). Use AddNew to create a new row, assign field values to all the non blob fields (i.e. Rs!Surname="Smith"), then read from the temp disk file in a loop say reading 5k at a time into a string, then call Rs!Photo.AppendChuck $string_var until you have read the whole file. Then call the Rs.Update method to cause a suitable SQL-Insert statement to be executed. You must use a recordset, executing INSERT SQL statements will not work unless you are using IDS/UD 9.1x (i.e. FileToBlob, FileToClob methods). SELECTS: Read a row from a Recordset in the normal fashion. Then recursively call Rs!Photo.GetChunk to read say 5k at a time into a string which you will write to a temp local file. I can email you two useful functions with Automate this is you want?
