Online vs. Turbo performance

Hi, We are migrating our applications from Turbo to Online and experiencing poor performance and CPU consumption problem. The results of our application bench mark, which were conducted on a Sun 490 running OS 4.1.1, are tabulated in the following table. The data are based on 100 transactions. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- | SQL statement | Engine | Real time (sec) | CPU (sec) | |---------------------------------------------------------------------| |---------------------------------------------------------------------| | prepared | Turbo | 8.87 | 2.16 | | select and update| OnLine 4.1 | 14.80 | 3.79 | | statements | OnLine 5.0 | 15.03 | 3.60 | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Comparing with Turbo, Online 4.1 consumes about 75% more CPU, and Online 5.0 consumes about 67% more CPU. The performance of Online 4.1 and 5.0 are close to each other and both are about 68% slower than Turbo. I have been asking Informix for their bench mark results but they said that they did not have any. Is anyone experiencing similar problems? Is there any way to improve Online performance to at least match Turbo? Any help is greatly appreciated. Optimization has been tried with the help of Informix experts. Jason
