How about the SQL, product versions (server & client), onconfig? ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
The numbers I gave are just for one SQL. However, the same phenomon happens with any SQL of all complexity--from the most simple to most complex. Our Informix dbase is version 7.x running on HP-UX 11. We are exectuing the query from the unix command line via a telnet session, so the client is not a problem. I'm not sure what you mean by onconfig. I'm not in charge of administration of the dbase, so my knowledge of it is very limited. Is that enough information? > >We have a SQL that executes in 0.30 seconds. However, when we have two > >users executing the same SQL, our time doubles to 0.60 seconds for both to > >finish. If you are not part of the team (maybe a team of 1) administering the box & Informix it will be very hard for you to do anything other than use 'set explain on' to check your SQLs are sensible. If there is a genuine problem someone somewhere will need to work out what it is and then alter the Informix configuration (onconfig is the configuration file for IDS, SE doesn't have one) and / or the machine / Unix configuration to alleviate the problem. <snip> -- Surfer!
