I have been using ontape to backup to disk for years. It's works fine,
lasts a long time. I completely automated the backup of over 50
informix instances using scripts which backup to disk and tape. The
only thing is that Informix doesn't officially support it. But it works
just fine. If the only reason you are using onarchive is disk backups,
we should talk!
(They also don't support backing up to a compression tape drive, believe
it or not.)

I am currently writing a book for O'Reilly Publishing about enterprise
backup and recovery, and would really appreciate hearing anything
you would like to ask me or tell me. If you have problems with
something, then others will as well. Can you think of anything
else that should go in such a book?
