What should I > do in Perl or ODBC to capture this table. any points. thank you. It is tempting to suggest "Throw away DBD::ODBC and use DBD::Informix instead". Almost tempting; I do have a PPM for Perl 5 that I could send you, but I'd not guarantee it would work for you (I haven't heard either way from a couple of people to whom it has been sent). The trouble is that those types don't have anything corresponding in ODBC, so the DBD::ODBC driver probably doesn't know how to handle them (possibly because the ODBC libraries don't know how to handle them either). They're a pain to DBD::Informix too, not because DBD::Informix can't handle them (it can), but because they have to be described to the rest of the world in ODBC terms, because of the DBI specification. Oh well, the nice thing about standards is that there's always another dozen to choose from. -- Yours, Jonathan Leffler (Jonathan.Leffler@Informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- http://www.perl.com/CPAN "I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it!"
