Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Edmund Lajara asked whether several NETTYPE lines can appear in the ONCONFIG, for different connection types. Thomas Mueller confirmed with his own example (tlitcp and ipcshm). Gerd Kaluzinski agreed, one per connection type, and added an sqlmux example for multiplexing. Solved: multiple NETTYPE entries are allowed.
Auto-generated by Claude from the posts below — may be imperfect; read the full thread.
I would just like to clarify on the setting of
NETTYPE on the ONCONFIG. Can I put several NETTYPEs on the one file, like:
NETTYPE ipcshm,3,,CPU
NETTYPE soctcp,,20,NET
because I use the DBSERVERNAME and the DBSERVERALIASES with different
connections? I wasn't so clear to me in the manual if I could have more than
one entry (not like the VPCLASS where it explicitly says you can have several
entries on the one onconfig). In case it is not possible, which one do I put
for the NETTYPE?
Hello,
yes it's posssible to put several NETTYPEs in one file.
I also have two entries in one file:
NETTYPE tlitcp,4,96,CPU # Configure poll thread(s) for nettype
NETTYPE ipcshm,2,64,CPU # Configure poll thread(s) for nettype
ciao,
Thomas

You can put several NETTYPEs in your ONCONFIG, one
per connection type:
(Please fill all default values)
NETTYPE ipcshm,3,50,CPU
NETTYPE soctcp,1,20,NET
NETTYPE sqlmux,1,20,NET --multiplexing, if you have several
TCP-connections per client...
