Hello All, Some background then the problem. Using Informix 9.21.UC5 on SUN Solaris. I know this version is no longer supported so don't bother telling me. The customer is not prepared to upgrade as the application will be phased out shortly. I am trying to recover an ontape. One of the chunks is called logdbs01. Any reference to this name causes the instance to fail. I have tried recovering the ontape, it fails. I tried creating the instance from scratch and it crashes as soon as this name is used. I am using symbolic links for the chunks. I have tried raw devices and cooked files and get the same problem. I have checked that it is not the raw devices or cooked file by allocating it to a different chunk and that works. Any ideas??? Regards Andy Grantham.
