I believe that if you have multiple dbspaces, then DBACCESS gives you the option of naming the dbspace -- the manual isn't explicit on the point (check out DBACCES User Manual, p 2-4, 2-11, 2-12, 4-6 to 4-8), and I only have a single dbspace in my OnLine system so I can't check it for you. Users who create a data base with the "Create" option from within the Database menu in DBaccess create their database in the root dbspace. It would be nice if there was some possibility to: (1) prevent users from creating a database in the root dbspace and more (2) ensure that certain users or group of users can only create databases in specific dbspaces. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luc Verschraegen Phone: +32-(0)9-2644732 E-mail: Luc.Verschraegen@rug.ac.be Fax: +32-(0)9-2644994 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
