I am looking for a "free" utility similar to PC Client/Sybase Central or MySQL Admin etc. I have used the dbaccess menu driven utility in the past, but I wondered if there is something out there that may be PC driven. system info Informix 7.31, Solaris 8, many thanks, Mike D _______________________________________________ Informix-list mailing list Informix-list@iiug.org http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list ____________________________________________________________________________________Take the Internet to Go: Yahoo!Go puts the Internet in your pocket: mail, news, photos & more. http://mobile.yahoo.com/go?refer=1GNXIC

Mike, 7.31 is version of Informix Dynamic Server. On the installation CD you would have received a product called I-Connect. That contains the Informix ODBC drivers. If not then you can download the latest informix connect from http://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/download/search.jsp?rs=ifxic This should give you what you need to connect the ODBC type tools you were looking at to the server. There is also a graphical administration tool in developed and being delivered with the next version of IDS, (IDS 11?). I believe the utility will be called OpenAdmin. It is built on top of an API that allows people to extend OpenAdmin as well as develop their own Admin utilities. IDS 11 is in the final stages of testing and should be GA very early next quarter You can test the beta of IDS 11 (codenamed cheetah) from www.ibm.com/software/data/informix Hope this helps
