BAR_BSALIB_PATH is normally deifned in your $ONCONFIG file. If undefined,
OnBar looks at a default location, which is okay if you have established a
link from there to the XBSA library for your storage manager. Which storage
manager are you using?

This is the killer.... you have failed to insert a row into table
bar_version in the sysutils database identifying your storage manager. The
exact contents of the row will depend on what version of your storage
manager you are using. Informix documentation 'backup and restore guide'
discusses the bar_version table.
