We have encountered a problem accessing a remote database via PPP. The following is logged in the sqlexecd log: #cat sqlexecd.log Connection refused 25506 The sqlexecd daemon cannot accept a connection on the socket.: Connection refused Connection refused Connection refused sqlexec scg_ppp james -dmaindb As the last line indicates, after four refusals the connection is made and the query succeeds. Both systems are SCO ODT Enterprise System V3.2, R4.2 running On-Line 5.00.UD3. The remote system is running I-Star 5.00.UD6; the local system is running I-Star 5.00.UD1. The application is ANSI C using ESQL/C 4.10.UD1. Have never had compatibility problems between the local On-Line 5.00.UD3 and ESQL/C 4.10 configuration. None of the network diagnostics (netstat, pppstat) shed any light -- 0 errors on the interface. telnet and ftp are used daily, so I don't think it is a TCP/IP configuration problem. I can't find the 25506 error notes. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. thanx james ============================================================================== =* James Potts Serving the Printing Industry *= =* System Composition Group, Ltd. since 1986: data collection; cost *= =* e-mail: james@scgdev.com accounting; order entry; general *= =* voice: (703) 803-8980 development & system integration *=
