Help about PDQ
Posted in 2012
A user asked where to put SET PDQPRIORITY in an Informix-4GL application and reported a syntax error at compile time. Answers: issue the statement anywhere after connecting (non-zero to enable, 0 to disable). Since the 4GL compiler's parser rejects it directly, wrap it in SQL ... END SQL (e.g. SQL SET PDQPRIORITY 10; END SQL), which works in 4GL 7.20 as the user had. Alternatively, for older 4GL, build the statement in a CHAR variable and PREPARE/EXECUTE it, which works in any version.

Where I put the command set PDQ priority in the application 4gl Thanks Wanderlei
Anywhere after connecting to the database You can turn on PDQ setting a value higher than 0 and turn it off setting a value to 0 or low. Wanderlei, if you mean compiling errors, just put the statement between SQL...
.END SQL, like this:
SQL
SET PDQPRIORITY 10;END SQL
That should allow any sql between the two clauses, I mean, compiler will not
raise any error on this.
Hope it helps.
Best Regards.

Wanderlai:
The important version is your version of 4GL not of the engine. Run "c4gl
-V" to see the version.
Anyway, if you are still running a (very) old version of 4GL that does not
support the SQL...END SQL syntax, you can prepare and execute the SET
PDQPRIORITY statement. That will work with any version of 4GL.

Wanderlei, como eu lhe disse, basta colocar a cláusula SET PDQPRIORITY entre
os comandos SQL.... END SQL,

If memory serves, 4GL v7.20 should support the SQL .... END SQL syntax.
So, either:
SQL
SET PDQPRIORITY 50
END SQL
-or-
DEFINE stmt CHAR(100)
....
LET stmt = "SET PDQPRIORITY 50"
PREPARE p_stmt FROM stmt
EXECUTE p_stmt;
...
