Re: Informix/HP-UX upgrade question

Mark,
I did.
When I took a client from 9.0x to 10.01 the upgrade path was a bit bumpy.
There are a couple of extraneous things left on the system, and the performance was not
up to par.
In a training exercise, I had a junior employee bounce the system and rebuild from
scratch. The amount of disk space available improved, since HP did move a
few things around and since we didn't have 9.x, we didn't need them. So, it
was a cleaner install.
My HP712 at home died. (Fatal Disk Crash.) While under warranty, I got the new
disk, and decided to do a rebuild. System was a bit faster.
While the 9.x -> 10.x upgrade path exists, it will work. But the re-install is even better.
There are other hints you can do too.
Another reason for a re-install, is that it is most likely that your system has changed,
and you may want to consider reallocating resources.
