First, What type of firewall are you running? If I am to understand you correctly you have the following Web app ---> Firewall ----> Informix Server And the initial connection is slow? But if you try : Web app ----> Informix Server, Things appear at *normal* speed? This would imply that it is your firewall that is causing some of the problems. I would have to know more.
