Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
I have a BYTE column under my Informix table to store binary data. I
can't insert data into it successfully. I read the Informix Guide to
SQL: Reference
(http://www.informix.com/answers/english/docs/dbdk/infoshelf/sqlr/02.fm6
.html#108930) and it only claim that one can add BYTE data in the
following ways:
- With the dbload or onload utilities
- With the LOAD statement (DB-Access)
- From BYTE(loc_t) host variables (INFORMIX-ESQL/C)
Are they the only methods? Has anyone ever insert a BYTE data
successfully with another approaches? (Using OLEDB?!...)
Thanks,

When using LOAD and UNLOAD from DBACCESS, remember to use the -X flag when
dealing with BLOB data. This formats nonprintable ASCII characters as
hexadecimal.
