Take a look at JAM/Web 2.0. It can support Informix, Sybase, Oracle, etc, with native drivers. It generates JAVA-script, HTML, etc, plus you can add your own, plus the code you write can live back on the server, or on other servers in a three-tier environment. It supports inheritance, visual drag-n-drop development. JAM runs natively on Win.31, Mac (6800, PPC), OS/2, Unix(character-mode and Motif), VMS, etc. I think JAM/Web Server runs on Solaris, SunOS, and Win-95 now, and on others soon, but if you go three-tier the services can be built and run on lots of other JAM platforms, like HP-UX, DG-UX, VMS, etc. It supports team development, has a visual repository, source-code control (works with SCCS and PVCS), screen wizards, three-tier wizards, etc. Oh, it also supports business graphics (charts, graphs-pretty things like that). So maybe JAM/Web is better, but it really depends on what your needs are. I think you can download the JAM/Web toolkit (JAM/Web 1.0) at the JYACC website, but the 2.0 version is undergoing final QA and I think is supposed to ship in the next week or so (you might want to call to confirm this). Take a look at www.jyacc.com for details. Or send me email, and I can put you in touch with the folks at JYACC. Good luck, Mark McNulty JYACC Consultant mmcnul@jyacc.com PS- these views are my own and not those of JP Morgan or JYACC.
