Help : Tuples ??

Hi, I have a problem ( I think ) with tuples. I prepare and open a dynamic sql, then I do a FETCH and it works until the 58 records is read in and then I receive "SQLNOTFOUND" ( I know I should get 101 records ). If I enclose the FETCH within a for loop ( 1 -> 101 ) it works. Havin printed the following fields " _SQ41->_SQCtbuf and _SQ41->_SQCtuple" (_SQ41 is the the cursor ), I realised that the first 57 fit into a tuple buffer ( ?? ) and that after he reads all the records from the buffer he does not go and get in my case 44 records ( with the for loop it reads 1 - 57 and then starts again from 0 unti 44 ). Is it possible to incease the size of a tuple buffer ?? if so how ??. What is a tuple ( Informix ) ?? and last but not least why does the fetch work if I enclose it in a for loop and not if I do some other thing between FETCHes ??
