Trouble with SQL-Retriever JDBC demo "dbview" applet

Server: SCO OS 5.0.4. / Informix OnLine 7.12 / Informix ESQL/C 7.12 - Installed in3sc0325.inf and sqlrjdbc.tar and set CLASSPATH Client: 1. Windows NT 4.0 / Netscape Communicator 4.01 2: SCO OS 5.0.4. / Netscape Navigator 3.0 - Installed sqlrjdbc.exe and set CLASSPATH Symptoms: 1. If I set "DBname=" to a valid name, the sqlr.inf40.d process briefly runs then dumps core in $HOME and the applet returns "Cannot connect to database: RPC Error: Timed-out". The main sqlr.inf40.d is still running along with the RPC and Vision stuff. If I leave out "DBname=", the applet returns "Cannot connect to database: Incorrect database or cursor name format.". However, a connection to the database server, listed in /etc/infsqld.conf, *IS* in fact established for the appropriate user! If I then try to execute an SQL statement, the applet returns "java.lang.NullPointerException" and the connection to the database server continues to persist, until I close the browser. 2. Setting "DebugOptions=" does not generate $HOME/vwodbc.txt or /usr/vision/log/vwdebuglog. Maybe these files can help here. Thanks for any advise. Edwin Babadaglian edwinb@panix.com
