I have an application that opens a DB connection and keeps it open for the duration of the thread. It passes around the connection and reuses it. We have just moved to Informix IDS 9.12 after having used MySQL type 4 drivers as well as JDBC-ODBC bridge connections. Today I have seen the connection close after a period of time (5 mins) and I am wondering if there is a parameter for the connection that will cause it to stay connected. I'm using the JDBC 2.0 driver under Linux. I chose Informix after having used it quite a bit years ago. I think Oracle's tool set is horrible and IDS is much easier to manage. I went to several book stores today looking for books Informix. None. I guess I'll have to get with Amazon. Any suggestions on an all-encompassing book for IDS 9.x? Any help appreciated. -darrel -- ============================================== Darrel Davis darrel@davisware.net AudioSonix, Inc. darreld@audiosonix.com ==============================================
