If you are lucky you will be able to start the new engne against the old database (install into a new INFORMIXDIR) and it will fix the catalogues. If you are unluck you will have to do a dbschema, export the contents and rebuild & import as the old Informix doesn't contain 'dbexport'. You may think it best to do a dbexport & dbimport once you've reached the promised land!
