Save/Restore a Smart BLOB Space

Hello to all, i have an application that use a database on a data dbspace, and some objects on a smart blob space. i want to save the applications data (dbspace + sbspace) restore it on another server the possibilities i have on the target server : - use the existing instance - Create a new instance with a dbspace and a sbpace how can i proceed ? thanks in advance

Create an external table SAME AS the table you want to export in both the source and target databases. Be sure to include a CLOBDIR or BLOBDIR entry as appropriate in the DATAFILES option to hold your LOBs. Use INSERT INTO <external table> SELECT * FROM <regular table>; then use tar or whatever to move the data file and files in the CLOBDIR/BLOBDIR to the corresponding locations on the target server and reverse the INSERT to read in the external table data into the permanent table.
