informix server 7.3 configure question?

hi, everybody, These days, I am installing informix dynamic server 7.3 on solaris 2.6, but I meet a question.I create the file dbspace. I use this way: 1. login informix 2.cat /dev/null > /export/home/informix/ifmxdata/rootdb.000 but when I run "oninit" to initialize server, it display error message "can't chunk "/export/home/informix/ifmxdata/rootdb.000"--error 2", Why? please tell how to resolve it. Thank you.
