How much downtime can you get? Do you want to reorganise the data?
How much space have you got? How much data have you got?
Do you have any LVM software installed (either as part of the OS or
separate)? Are you using raw or cooked space? Are you using LINKS
or true paths to your chunks?
Using LVM or Informix mirroring to copy the data followed by breaking
the mirror is probably the easiest and offers minimal interruption to
your users.
Building a new instance and then using dbexport/dbimport is also simple
but needs down time and will require all access mechanisms to be amended.
Other methods are available (as per migration guide) but we need more
information really.
