Hi Jonathan, Readers will probably want to know what hardware and OS are you running= the Informix on. HP Openview used to be used a lot on HP equipment. In= the past some places used a free version of Big Brother. Do you expect= to be using a separate server to hold and graph or transform the monitori= ng data? If so, what hardware and OS would be used on the collect server?= Some end users write their own collection scripts and set them to be exe= cuted by crontab [on UNIX systems], use a secure copy to copy the data to= a central collection server, and then use generic or commercial graphing= and alerting programs. I am using Informix IDS in my production environment under HP-UX PA-Risc (HPUX
11.23). My test and development is under Suse Linux SLES 10.
I would run the collections on a separate server running under Suse Linux.
The main thing I'm looking to display is number of sessions (onstat -g ses)
memory usage (onstat -g seg) and current VPCLASS load average (not sure was
onstat command for load avg.)
