RE: Informix for IBM S/390

Why don't you re-read the whole thing from the beginning. I was describing one of the possible ways, method 3 in the list, to run Informix on Linux on a S/390 mainframe - as I understood it - not every possible incantation of mainframe configurations. I am a UNIX guy and I was simply saying that it sounded like a lot of layers to run a database on. It reminded me of when I used to run Word Perfect in a dos emulation session on an Altos 10000 - 486 with 32 meg of ram with 100 people on it. It worked, but was not the best possible solution. Besides, none of this is actually possible since Informix does not support Linux except on Intel > -----Original Message----- > From: Carlos Benjamin [SMTP:benj@firstlinux.net] > Sent: Tuesday, 2000-August-15 9:02 AM > To: kirk.waterhouse@cibavision.exc3.Novartis.com; informix-list@iiug.org > Subject: RE: Informix for IBM S/390 > > > > --- kirk.waterhouse@cibavision.Novartis.com > > wrote: > >I don't know that much about the S/390.
