Removing a TEST Informix Instance

I have a second instance of Informix on a single Unix server that I would like to remove. Besides dropping the databases and dbspaces (not including sysmaster, and root, temp and log dbspaces) what else do I need to do? Is there an uninstall feature or do I just have my tech support reinitialize the disk where it resides? I run Informix 7.23 on HP 9000 and use raw disk.

You don't really need to drop anything. Just identify the disk spaces being used by the instance. Then, bring it down and tell your System admin. that the relevant disk spaces are now available to be used for whatever. You could rename your onconfig file to whatever.old so that its not accidentally used to bring up a partly existent instance. Rudy
Just bring the instance down and remove any boot-time startup scripts for that instance in /etc/rc*. If the data was sensitive you can wipe the disks, otherwise treat it like a cassette tape you no longer need and just reuse it for something else. Art S.
